When are you required to activate your headlights?
Your headlights need to be turned on starting one half hour after sunset and remain on until one half hour before sunrise. This rule also applies when using windshield wipers during rain or snow, and whenever visibility is under 1,000 feet, like on narrow country or mountain roads, even during daylight.
